What's included?

The course is split into 3 progressive phases. You move at your own pace.

PASO 1

Knowledge Development

Learn the basic principles of scuba diving, safety concepts, and dive planning via PADI eLearning or classroom sessions.

PASO 2

Confined Water Dives

Practice essential skills in a pool-like environment, including gear assembly, mask clearing, and buoyancy control.

PASO 3

Open Water Dives

Complete 4 ocean dives (in Taganga) to demonstrate your skills and gain real-world experience exploring the sea.

Knowledge Development

  • Diving principles and physics
  • Scuba gear: how it works
  • Safety and dive planning
  • Buoyancy and decompression concepts
  • Assessment: knowledge reviews + final exam

Confined Water (Pool)

  • Equipment assembly and configuration
  • Mask clearing and fitting underwater
  • Regulator recovery
  • Basic buoyancy control
  • Emergency procedures: out-of-air scenarios

4 Open Water Dives

  • Real dives in Taganga, Santa Marta
  • Demonstration of learned skills
  • Planning and executing real dives
  • Exploring coral reefs and marine life
  • Direct supervision by a certified PADI instructor

Prerequisites

Everything you need to get started

  • Ability to swim and tread water for 10 minutes.
  • At least 10 years old.
  • Good overall physical health.

Duration

3 to 5 days at your own learning pace. Designed so you move comfortably without rushing.

Certification

You receive the internationally recognized PADI Open Water Diver certification. Valid for life to dive up to 18m with a buddy.
